Point Standings Details

1 Racing Year which starts and ends immediately following Detroit FreePress Marathon

3 Racing Seasons within each Racing Year

  • Winter: Post-Detroit FreePress Marathon  – Bill Roney
  • Summer: Post-Bill Roney- Last Hansons XC Race
  • Fall: Post-Last Hansons XC – Detroit FreePress Marathon

Points are earned at races on the race schedule according to the following rubric:

Overall Placing

  • 1st                                                  150 pts
  • 2nd                                                100 pts
  • 3rd                                                 75 pts
  • 4th                                                 40 pts
  • 5th                                                 35 pts
  • 6th                                                 30 pts
  • 7th                                                 25 pts
  • 8th                                                 20 pts
  • 9th                                                 15 pts
  • 10th                                               10 pts

Masters Division Placing

  • 1st masters                                    50 pts
  • 2nd masters                                  25 pts
  • 3rd masters                                   10 pts

Age-Group Placing

  • 1st in age group                            20 pts
  • 2nd in age group                          10 pts
  • 3rd in age group                           5 pts

Other Point Opportunities

  • Debuted at this distance             25 pts
  • Personal best (not debut)           25 pts
  • Big Race Multiplier                        Multiply total points by 1.5 if the race has more than 500 finishers

 

Point Series Guidlines:

  • - Points may only be earned if the Yellow Team jersey or tech shirt is worn during the race
  • - Double-dipping is allowed (for example, you can get points for both overall and masters placings)
  • - Age Group or Masters points are earned based on the race’s published results (however the race breaks down age groups and masters divisions is how the points are awarded)
  • - Triple points are earned at all Yellow Team Focus Races (These races can be found here)
  • - Points earned from Challenges are applied towards Year Total and not Season Totals
  • - Points can be earned at any local race (within 100 miles of a Hansons Running Shop), any Focus Race or at any marathon
  • - PRs and Debuts, along with marathons are exempt from the 100 Mile Rule
  • - If you think a race not within 100 miles should be eligible, email Luke or Corey to lobby for an exception
  • - Points earned must be submitted using the form below

    I have run this several times, but never broke 40:00 before! Sorry for the late notice, but I thought only races from the Racing Schedule counted. Just saw the 100 mile radius rule n here today. Will be a second result coming in a few minutes.

    First Martian Marathon for me. Followed (most of) the Hanson’s plan this winter, and dropped 11 minutes off my marathon PR.

    Congrats to Hansons Yellow Team at the April 30 Mt. Clemens, MI “Lets Move” 1/2 Marathon! The Yellow Team had an outstanding showing – overall male / female winners, several personal bests, masters winners, age group winners. Overall it was a great day for the Yellow Team. The Yellow Team Shirts were front and center at this race. Lets keep this train rolling!
